Professionalism

Law enforcement is a craft that is perfected over a long career of life long learning. We must continue to evolve, learn and grow as individuals and as a profession. IACP is a beacon of excellence that is well positioned to grow the profession. We must continue to encourage our law enforcement teams to advance the profession through education.

Teamwork

Professionalism

Professionalism

Effective leaders create and inspire efficient teams. Officers work individually and are instantly called together to work effectively together to a common goal. And we are more effective when the public is part of this team. Now more than ever we need strong leadership to create teams to eliminate divisive rhetoric and toxic cutltures.

Integrity

Professionalism

Integrity

Our profession hinges on integrity. We must adhere to strong moral principles and unblemished reputation."I will live by example, remembering that my character and conduct, on-duty and off, directly influence the legitimacy of the policing profession. I will exercise self-restraint and maintain courageous calm in the face of danger, scorn, and ridicule and be constantly mindful of the welfare of others as well as my own well-being"
