I really didn't plan on running for IACP. In fact I said that I wouldn't. But when I am asked to step up, I feel a sense of duty and honor to serve.
These last five years have been incredibly difficult for law enforcement. Agencies are experiencing unprecedented staffing shortages, recruitment problems and the loss of decades of experience. Communities, media and legislators are questioning the role of policing and trust in our noble profession.
Now more than ever we need unified and forward thinking leadership to advance professional policing and rebuild trust in our communities.
We must do more to engage our members, our communities, and our neighbors. We must advocate, educate and innovate to meet the demands and expectations of modern policing.
I'm willing to serve. I'm willing to take on this challenge and provide strong, responsible, ethical leadership. We must change the narrative about policing and return it to the noble profession we have been called to do. I'm willing to step forward and commit to a journey with you to make a difference.
