Chief Darren Gault is a candidate for the prestigious position of 4th Vice President of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) in 2025. As an experienced, trusted, and respected law enforcement leader, Gault seeks to bring his expertise and vision to this important role within the IACP. He will bring his core values of Professionalism, Teamwork and Integrity to IACP, the global leader in policing.
Chief Gault has served in law enforcement for over 26 years. He is a dynamic leader and change agent. He was hired as an outside chief in 2019 to lead the Moline Police Department which had struggled in recent years. Chief Gault changed the culture, modernized the police department, and improved community relations. During his tenure, the department has achieved ILEAP Tier 1 & 2 Accreditation.
He is the Vice President At-Large for the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police. He serves as the Illinois representative to the IACP State Association of Chiefs of Police and a member of the IACP Community Policing Committee.
Chief Gault is a graduate of the FBI National Academy #269, a Certified Police Chief through the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, a Certified Sport Security Professional through the University of Southern Mississippi and certified in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion through Northwestern University. He has a Master of Organizational Leadership degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree.
